Western Access to Heathrow is currently a government priority and an issue for many local residents.
The WLR will provide easy access to Heathrow but without the disadvantages of BAA's proposals. This is because the WLR has been developed from the point of view of local residents and businesses and is serving the region not just the airport.
Heathrow Access via the WLR will be in three parts:
1. From the Great Western Main Line (western access, GtWRATH)
2 From the south via Ascot and Staines
3. To the proposed high speed line to the north of Britain (HS2)
