Rail Renaissance
There is currently a surge in rail projects, especially in the UK, due to lack of recent investment combined with environmental pressures and the difficulties of expanding the road network. The Windsor Link is one project amongst others being promoted by private companies, central government and quasi independent bodies.
In the Great Western region, Network Rail is carrying out a consultation on rail usage. Although the deadline has passed 
you can still read what is proposed for your area here.
Other big projects include Crossrail, which is owned by Transport for London, and the new proposed HS2 link.
