The affected towns are listed alphabetically below - more details coming soon - and the diagram to the left illustrates the whole route. Most towns on this route will have at least two direct trains to Windsor or Heathrow per hour.

If you have any comments, positive or negative either about your town or anything else, please let us know. If your town isn't mentioned below, your comments are still welcome.

Ascot

Trains for Heathrow will now stop at this station.  This town’s rail connection will be improved by additional trains to Basingstoke via Farnborough and to High Wycombe via Windsor and Maidenhead.  Change at Staines for new faster services to Woking and Guildford.

Aylesbury

New services to Heathrow via Windsor and to Bedford. This town presently has the lowest property prices in the region and improving rail links will significantly help residents.

Bagshot

New services to Heathrow, north via Windsor and Basingstoke via Farnborough.

Basingstoke

New services to Heathrow and High Wycombe via Windsor.

Bedford

New direct services to and from Heathrow via High Wycombe. Change here from services from north east England.

Bletchley

Section of Varsity line re-opened with new services to Heathrow via Aylesbury and Windsor and to Bedford.

Bourne End

Through line restored to High Wycombe.  New services to Heathrow via Windsor. Offices over line demolished.

Bracknell

Burnham

More stopping services serving Reading, Slough and Heathrow.

Camberley

New services to Basingstoke, Heathrow via Ascot and Windsor.

Chalvey

Despite being right next to the M4, this area is currently the most deprived in Slough.  A major new station and transport interchange for connection of railway with M4 will help enormously with redeveloping and improving the area.

Datchet

New bridge to replace existing level crossings, solving traffic problems. New connections to the north (via Windsor and Maidenhead), Heathrow (direct) and the south (via Staines and Ascot).

Egham

New services to Basingstoke, Heathrow via Ascot and Windsor.

Great Marlow

Reading

Faster service to Heathrow via Windsor (10 minutes quicker than Airtrack).

Slough

Slough replaces Reading as first point on Great Western Mail Line to have north/south connections, greatly enhancing the value of the Heart of Slough project. New platforms on station next to shopping development.  Possible return route for Crossrail direct to Heathrow. New Chalvey station will help to reduce road traffic through Slough for people accessing the town centre or the railway from the M4.
