In preparation for the Queen’s jubilee people of Windsor and Eton, led by the Windsor and Eton Society, worked hard to give their town a ‘facelift’ improving the look of the town and restoring buildings to their former glory. Yesterday we saw some of the results of that work as the Earl of Wessex gave awards to the people behind some of the best restorations – a difficult task given that over 160 buildings took part.

The Windsor and Eton society have very kindly allowed this blog to reproduce some photos from the competition, showing just a small sample of the wonderful and inspiring architecture of the town. The Windsor Link Railway hopes that any new buildings that are enabled as part of the project leave a similar legacy for future generations.
