The government today has announced that Crossrail will be extended to Reading. This will mean not only improved services but also some cost savings as less work will be required at Maidenhead.
WLR is always very supportive of a more efficient railway and better services, so welcomes these improvements. What we need to see next is the Heathrow branch of Crossrail extended to Ascot and Bracknell, which would be facilitated by WLR phase 2.
