Peter Hooper, who stood as an independent against Adam Afriyie for Windsor at the last general election, has died. He had a keen interest in local affairs particularly transport matters such as Heathrow and the Windsor Link Railway. RIP.
WLR is pleased to be speaking at the IET event in High Wycombe on Tuesday 13 May. This is being held at 7 for 7.30 pm at the New Bucks University. For directions click here. The government today has announced that Crossrail will be extended to Reading. This will mean not only improved services but also some cost savings as less work will be required at Maidenhead. WLR is always very supportive of a more efficient railway and better services, so welcomes these improvements. What we need to see next is the Heathrow branch of Crossrail extended to Ascot and Bracknell, which would be facilitated by WLR phase 2.
