A big thank you to the guys at the Surrey Branch of Rail Future for their support and assistance. WLR gave a presentation there yesterday. Also presented at the same meeting was Crossrail South. This is a plan to extend the lines into Waterloo to connect up to the Charing Cross lines, enabling a whole host of new journey options to the East and the North. Earlier this week, the company gave a presentation to the RBWM Highways & Transport panel and today we gave a very similar presentation to the Windsor & Eton Society. It was gratifying today to see such a packed meeting and to get so many intelligent questions from many people who clearly care deeply about Windsor. The Windsor Link Railway is on the agenda for this evening's meeting of the RBWM Highways and Transport Overview & Scrutiny Panel. This is being held at 6.30 pm in the Council Chamber in the Town Hall at Maidenhead. WLR will be publishing new information on the rail alignment and gradients for phase 1, enabling councillors to see the technical viability of the project. WLR has been featured in this week's edition of the Windsor Express for its upcoming presentation to the Windsor & Eton Society. The other day, WLR met the Central Windsor Neighbourhood Plan group and they voted to support the project. This meeting continues WLR's consultations with local people as part of the company's plan of involving as many local people and groups as possible early in the design of the railway.
