WLR will be featured on the Andrew Peach show on Wednesday Thursday this week (30 July). Cllr Phill Bicknell, the Lead Member for Windsor at the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, is talking about the council paper and the proposed referendum at 7 am. The Windsor Observer reports: The Royal Borough Local Plans Working Group met on Wednesday last week [19 November] to discuss items and policies to be included in the borough-wide Local Plan with the £250m Windsor Link Railway scheme up for discussion. The group agreed to propose adding the project to the plan, which will show how the Royal Borough intends to build more than 12,600 homes in the next 15 years. The Royal Borough Observer reports: Windsor Link Railway (WLR) has passed the pre-planning advice stage with the Royal Borough for the first phase of its plan to transform rail travel in the South East by combining Windsor’s two stations underground. Windsor Express poll: 78% say yes to WLR

An online poll by the Windsor Express has found strong support for the Windsor Link Railway proposals. This week's poll asked voters whether or not the WLR would be a good think for Windsor. Of 98 voters, 77 (78.5%) said 'yes', it would be a good thing. Just 18 voters (18.4%) said 'no' and three (3.1%) were undecided. The Windsor Express is available from good local newsagents.
